Welcome!
Thank you for your interest in a K-8 Tommy's Tour at the University of Southern California. We are excited to welcome you to campus and connect your group to current USC students.
Please review this website in its entirety to understand our request and reservation process before proceeding. Requests and reservations that do not meet the criteria below and our guidelines are subject to cancellation.
Tommy’s Tours
All K-8 tours are provided through Tommy’s Tours, a volunteer organization on campus. Students within this organization volunteer for tours based on their academic schedule and as such, we are not able to confirm a tour until we have received the adequate staffing needed for a Tommy’s tour. Until our office provides an update regarding availability, all submissions made through the form below (USC Tommy’s Tour K-8 Request) will be considered as requests. Not all requests will be accommodated due to availability and groups will be updated via email regarding the status of their request.
Tommy's Tour Guidelines
- Before submitting your request, please review this agreement with additional details. Submission of your request and/or reservation confirms you have read and agreed to the terms for a Tommy’s Tour at USC.
- Tommy’s Tours are reserved for organizers bringing students in K-8 grade in a large group, USC maintains the right to cancel reservations for groups that do not meet this criteria.
- We are limited to a maximum of 80 total students for a guided tour.
- Parking for buses is not available at USC, additional details are included in all event communications and available here (drop off and parking information).
- 1 chaperone is required to attend and remain with the program for every 10 students attending the tour.
- Contact information for each attending chaperone will need to be submitted through your confirmation email to finalize your tour.
One Visit per Academic Semester
Due to the high interest of groups wanting to visit campus, organizations/schools are limited to one reservation and/or request per academic semester. Duplicate requests will be canceled without consideration.

Friday, December 6 is the final day a tour will be offered as this is the last day of school. Our request process will be open until Friday, November 1. Spring 2025 requests are currently not being accepted, please visit our website in the Winter for additional information on our timeline.
Recommendations
As we want to provide the best possible chance to connect with your group, below are some recommendations that have allowed us to get groups scheduled:
- The larger the group, the more challenging it will be for us to accommodate a tour. For every 20-25 students, we will be requesting 1 Volunteer Tour Leader. When possible, we would recommend bringing only specific classes and not attempting to request a tour for an entire grade class. While you are welcome to submit these requests, please note it will be unlikely for us to confirm a tour that is needing more than 4-5 tour guides.
- It is recommended groups are requesting a time between 9-12 PM and 1-3 PM to account for traffic to and from campus.
Request versus Reservation Process
As there is a high interest in groups wanting to visit campus, groups are limited to either submitting a Tommy’s Tour request form or reserving a date directly from the USC Tommy’s Tour calendar. Groups that have a pending form currently under review and proceed to reserve a date, will have their request form automatically canceled, this will apply as well to groups that reserve a date and proceed to submit a request form.
USC Tommy’s Tour Calendar
Offerings for registration will be available Monday, August 19 for tours Monday, September 16 through Friday, December 1. Please note each tour will have a capacity of 25-75 students and will be indicated in the description. Groups wanting to bring a larger group that can't be accommodated within one of the offerings should submit a request below. Multiple reservations for the same organization/school will not be accepted.

Request open Monday, August 26 for tours to be scheduled Monday, September 16 through Friday, December 1.
Request Process
As our students volunteer their time, we require 2-weeks advance notice from when a form is submitted to the date, indicated via the calendar in the form for when a group needs an update. If you receive an error message when selecting the requested confirmation date, this means the request is at risk of being canceled without consideration. Groups will receive an update regarding our availability at the latest by the date indicated in the form.
Confirmation Process
In the instance a Tommy’s Tour is confirmed, you will receive an email outlining next steps. As we have a high interest in tours, groups that receive information on next steps will be given a deadline to finalize their tour (generally 1-2 weeks). It is imperative groups are giving themselves enough time from when they will need an update regarding our availability to their requested visit dates. Groups should also be accounting for the necessary time their school/organization for approval from when they request an update to the earliest date they indicated as a requested tour date.
Example Request
To assist in the request process, please review the provide example as an outline of the general timeline for a request to be process.
Reviewing this example can assist in ensuring your request is not cancelled without consideration.
Entry to campus is limited to students, faculty, staff, and registered tour guests. Walk-ins are not permitted. Groups registered as self-guided tours must remain together at all times and/or students must have school ID's or other identification available in case they are separated from the group at any point during their visit.
